ABOUT ME, PROFESSIONALLY...

I am the Physics Course Manager of OnRamps at The University of Texas at Austin, where I am part of a team that brings transformative learning experiences via a dual enrollment model to tens of thousands of students across Texas. Prior to UT Austin, I earned my PhD in Physics at Harvard University, where my research focused on the interpretation of assessments of student learning in the introductory physics classroom and laboratory. I also held a postdoctoral appointment at Duke University, where I studied how scientific writing may shed light on both students' scientific reasoning and differences in epistemic beliefs across disciplines. My current role builds on my experiences in experimental laboratory physics, physics education research, and pedagogical instruction to create high-quality educational experiences for both students and teachers across Texas.

...AND AT HOME

When I'm not at work, I enjoy spending time with my wife, Emma, our two young children, and our desperate-to-be-loved dog. We're likely to be exploring new cities and visiting distant friends on weekends, tasting new foods and treats around town, or recovering from the crankiness of a missed nap or late meal (and sometimes the kids are cranky, too).
